Who I Am and How I Can Help
Hi, I’m Mikaela, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in supporting adolescents and young adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, trauma, depression, and addiction. I also have experience working with young people involved in the criminal justice system.
I am deeply passionate about this work because many young people face these challenges without access to adequate resources. My goal is to provide guidance, practical tools, and encouragement to help clients heal, build self-awareness, and create lasting positive change during these formative years.
I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Therapy, to help clients:
Reframe unhelpful thinking patterns
Develop healthier coping skills
Build resilience and emotional strength
In our sessions, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel free to express yourself openly. My approach is compassionate yet active—I provide empathy and support while encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone and move toward growth. I also integrate mindfulness, strength-based techniques, and family involvement when helpful, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and goals.
