Social Media Policy
Renner Therapy LLC
Effective Date: October 11th, 2026
At Renner Therapy LLC, I use social media to share mental health education, therapy resources, and information about my practice. This policy explains how social media relates to professional boundaries, confidentiality, and communication.
Social Media and Confidentiality
Protecting your privacy is important to me. I will not disclose that you are a client or share information about your treatment on social media without appropriate authorization, except as permitted or required by law.
Please avoid sharing private health information through public comments, direct messages, or other social media platforms.
Friend and Follow Requests
To maintain appropriate professional boundaries, I do not accept friend requests or personal follow requests from current clients on personal social media accounts. This helps protect your privacy and maintain the therapeutic relationship.
Following or interacting with my professional social media accounts is your choice and will not affect the care you receive.
Comments, Direct Messages, and Communication
Social media is not a secure or confidential method of communicating about therapy.
I do not use social media comments or direct messages to provide therapy, respond to clinical concerns, schedule urgent appointments, or discuss confidential treatment information. Messages may not be monitored regularly.
For practice-related questions, please contact me at mikaelarenner@rennertherapy.com.
For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States, you can also call or text 988 for crisis support.
Reviews and Testimonials
Your privacy matters. I will not ask you to publicly identify yourself as a client or disclose your treatment relationship through online reviews or testimonials.
If you choose to leave a review, please remember that public reviews may reveal personal information about you. I will not confirm or deny that you are a client in response to a review.
Educational Content
Content shared through social media is intended for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not individualized mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
Every person's circumstances are different. Information shared online should not replace an individualized assessment or professional care.
Boundaries and Professional Conduct
Social media interactions do not change the professional boundaries of the therapeutic relationship. I will maintain appropriate professional conduct online and follow applicable ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and laws.
